Hello!

I have been using basting pins [about 1.5 in, 3.5 cm] that I got from
Joanne's, but they leave rather large holes in the fabric.

Is there a better brand?

I can't use much smaller, as my hands don't work well.

I ask because I'm going to the Vermont Festival at Norwich on Friday,
and hope to find some there.

TIA!

best

The holes may not be as bad as you anticipate. The brass safety pins I'm
using to baste before stippling seem to make holes but when I remove a pin
and stitch across where the pin was, the holes just disappear. Just to be
sure, I went back to my quilt, flipped it to the solid backing and scratched
across where some pin marks had not been stitched across. They went away
too. Now, I'm sure that if I had a 20 pound QI riding on the quilt, it would
be possible for holes to be pulled. It sure is boring to stipple without a
kitty. Polly

Hullo Martha
As long as the pins have not actually broken any of the threads, I
haven't met a hole yet that doesn't close with a little moisture and
warm iron + perhaps a little finger nail assistance!
